CCNH Inside Look: CareGivers

Date: Nov 10, 2021, 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm
Location: Zoom

Helping NH Homebound Seniors Avoid Isolation & Live Independently

The pandemic showed us the difficulties of being separated from family, friends and community. For hundreds of homebound seniors across Southern New Hampshire, this has sadly been a way of life – and their “norm” – even well before the word COVID entered our vocabulary.

In our next CCNH Inside Look, we will dive deep into the issue of isolation and food insecurity among seniors in New Hampshire. Our guest is James Wilkie, executive director of CareGivers, our program assisting homebound and disabled seniors through many of the everyday challenges they face

You’ll learn:

  • How the pandemic exacerbated isolation, food insecurity and financial struggles for local seniors, and the adverse impact on their physical, social and emotional well-being.
  • How CareGivers is helping bridge the gap through transportation, food delivery and other forms of unique emotional support, and had to pivot the way it operated over the past year and a half.
  • Why donor support for CareGivers is going further in extending the reach of the program – and helping more seniors access essential needs and remain independent in their own homes.
  • What’s in store for the months ahead, as the program continues to see an increase in demand for its services.

This meeting will be held via Zoom. Once you register, you will receive the log-in instructions via email. The session will be capped at 100 attendees, so make sure to register asap!
