CCNH Awarded $25,000 from Alice J. Reen Charitable Trust

Catholic Charities NH, the state’s largest human services organization, has received a $25,000 grant from the Alice J. Reen Charitable Trust to expand affordable access to mental health counseling for individuals in Greater Concord.

The grant will help make the organization’s Mental Health Counseling Services more available to low-income individuals and families. The program provides flexible mental health counseling – both in-person or teletherapy – to help individuals develop the skills necessary to better cope with difficult situations and improve their overall quality of life.

“Many of our New Hampshire neighbors face emotional challenges beyond their control. When you add in rising costs of living and financial pressures, getting proper care becomes even harder,” said Cindy Coughlin, Director of Catholic Charities NH’s Mental Health Counseling Services. “We are deeply grateful to the Alice J. Reen Trust, whose support helps make it possible for residents to access the services they need and build the resilience to face life’s challenges.”

Over the past year, Catholic Charities NH provided nearly 2,100 counseling sessions, statewide, helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds who were struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, grief, addiction, marital and relationship issues, difficult transitions, and other challenges. 80% of clients reported positive changes in behavior and 79% noted improvements in their overall well-being. Services are covered by most major insurance plans, with a sliding fee scale to keep services accessible and affordable.
