Do you have to be Catholic to receive services through Catholic Charities New Hampshire?

No. We serve people because we are Catholic and not because the people we serve are or are not. You do not need to be Catholic to receive help through Catholic Charities. We are dedicated to assisting the poor and vulnerable of all faiths and backgrounds.

What portion of my contribution goes to the Diocese of Manchester?

Your gift to Catholic Charities New Hampshire will be used to support the mission, clients, and programs of Catholic Charities New Hampshire. Although Catholic Charities is the service arm of the church, we are a separate legal corporation.

I donated to the Bishop's Charitable Assistance Fund. Is that the same thing as giving to Catholic Charities New Hampshire?

No. A donation made to the Bishop's Charitable Assistance Fund supports grants to other organizations in New Hampshire consistent with the mission of the Roman Catholic Church. A donation to Catholic Charities directly supports our programs. Catholic Charities does not receive annual funding from the Bishop's Fund. Donations for Catholic Charities should be made out to Catholic Charities New Hampshire and mailed to:

Charitable donations are the foundation of the work of Catholic Charities New Hampshire. It is only because of the generosity of our donors that we are able to offer our many programs and services. What opportunities are there for volunteers?

Volunteers are essential to the work that we do at Catholic Charities New Hampshire. Without their support, we would not be able to provide all the services that we offer to those in need.

Volunteer opportunities range from sorting food at the New Hampshire Food Bank to volunteering time to visit people at one of our rehabilitation and nursing centers to being part of an event committee. For a list of current opportunities, click here.

I have some clothing and household items to donate. Does Catholic Charities accept these types of donations?

Catholic Charities does not generally accept clothing or household items. However, St. Vincent de Paul Society thrift stores do and we often refer people in need of clothing/household item assistance to St. Vincent de Paul Society thrift stores. Can I support Catholic Charities without giving a financial donation?

Yes. We have many opportunities for volunteering, in-kind donations, and advocacy. Click here for a listing of ways you can help.
