New Generation Receives $20,000 from Foundation for Seacoast Health

New Generation, the Catholic Charities NH program that creates pathways out of homelessness for mothers and children, has received a $20,000 grant from the Foundation for Seacoast Health to help more local families escape unsafe situations and find a place to call home.

The grant will support New Generation’s wide range of services, including safe shelter, case management, and stabilization services for mothers and children experiencing homelessness. It is part of the Foundation for Seacoast Health’s 2025 Responsive Grant Cycle, which supports nonprofits facing rising costs, workforce shortages, and the impact of government funding cuts.

“We are grateful for this support and what it means for families right now,” said Brandy Rickaby, executive director of New Generation. “This grant gives more mothers and children a safe place to sleep and the support they need to build a better future.”

“At a time when more families are facing housing insecurity, New Generation provides both safety and a path forward,” said Blair Dembers CEO of the Foundation for Seacoast Health. “We are delighted that this grant supports critical services that help mothers and children regain stability and hope.”

New Generation provides safe shelter and one-on-one support to help families regain stability and move forward with confidence. For families, this often means help finding housing, securing employment, enrolling children in school, and building the skills needed to remain independent. Over the past year, the program provided more than 6,100 nights of shelter to families in need. Ninety-two percent of families who complete stabilization services remain in permanent housing after one year.
