New Generation Receives $20,000 Grant from M&T Bank

New Generation, which provides safe shelter and support for moms and children facing homelessness, was awarded a $20,000 grant from the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation to support its work helping New Hampshire families secure stable housing and achieve self-sufficiency.
The grant will enable more families to access New Generation’s transitional housing and supportive services for mothers and children experiencing housing insecurity due to domestic violence, substance use challenges, and a lack of affordable housing. Since 1987, New Generation has helped more than 1,900 women and children through its shelter, transitional housing and stabilization services.
“Our mission cannot happen without the incredible support of organizations like M&T Bank,” said Brandy Rickaby, executive director of New Generation. “Their partnership allows us to make a greater impact in our community by helping more families escape homelessness and build the futures they deserve.”
“M&T Bank is proud to support New Generations and Catholic Charities of New Hampshire in their vital mission of providing safe shelter and a pathway to stability for mothers and children facing homelessness. At M&T, we are deeply committed to strengthening the communities we serve – ensuring every individual has the opportunity to thrive,” said Tim Wade, M&T Bank’s Regional President in New Hampshire. “By investing in initiatives like New Generation, we’re helping uplift New Hampshire families and create positive change in the region.”
In the past year alone, New Generation provided 6,115 nights of safe shelter for nearly 30 families. Residents receive case management, parenting counseling, life-skills coaching, childcare support, and financial education, helping them secure stable jobs and housing. To ensure long-term success, the program also provides stabilization services for residents after they move out of the shelter, with 92% of families maintaining their permanent housing after the first year.
