How it provides support to Catholic Charities NH
Catholic Charities NH is proud to be one of the ministries supported by the New Hampshire Catholic Appeal (NHCA), the annual spring appeal managed by the Diocese of Manchester.
While we are grateful for the support of the NHCA, it is important to note that the NHCA does not fund all our programs.
Gifts to the NHCA only support Catholic Charities NH’s Community Services program, which is 1 out of 10 of our core social services programs. The NHCA does not fund any of our other core social services programs, such as Our Place, Liberty House, New Generation, Mental Health Counseling Services and others. These programs are supported through appeals conducted directly by Catholic Charities NH throughout the year.
We deeply appreciate all of our faithful donors who continue to bring the light of Christ across New Hampshire, whether it’s through the Diocese of Manchester’s NHCA appeal or a Catholic Charities appeal.

The NHCA replaces only the spring parish appeal that CCNH had conducted within parishes across the Diocese for more than 75 years. CCNH will continue to fundraise throughout the year, in various ways.

You may see a Catholic Charities representative in your parish during the NHCA appeal, but only in support of the NHCA, as a portion of the proceeds from the NHCA will come back to Catholic Charities NH. There no longer is a dedicated Catholic Charities appeal, however, happening at the parishes.

It does not. Proceeds from the NHCA only go towards our Community Services program, which is one of ten core social services programs. All other CCNH programs (e.g. Our Place, Liberty House, New Generation, Mental Health Counseling) are funded outside of the NHCA through dedicated appeals and fundraisers conducted directly by Catholic Charities NH.

Approximately 33% of your NHCA gift comes back to CCNH. The rest will support other key Diocesan ministries such as retired priests, seminarians and vocations, Catholic education, missionary support, Parable Magazine and parish support.

Yes! Since the NHCA only supports 10% of our core programs, we will continue to fundraise throughout the year for the other nine programs. Donors will continue to hear from us in various ways, such as direct mail, online campaigns, special events, and more.

Your support of the NHCA allows us to serve as a beacon of hope for hundreds of our most vulnerable neighbors. This includes helping families who are struggling to make ends meet find stability, providing essential assistance to seniors facing the loss of heat or electricity during the winter months, and assisting individuals navigating life’s unpredictable challenges in discovering hope and a path forward.

Proceeds from the NHCA will cover approximately 80% of the operating expenses for our Community Services program.
